i would like to know if i can make my own fast track insulated section? i have a crossing signal to activate ahead of time, but i don't want to spend a ton of money for a handfull of 10" track sections. is there a way around this?

Steve: you can remove the metal bar that joins the 2 outer rails. Just carefully lift up the clips that hold it then flatten them again.
You can add wire feeders to any full straight or curved section. (The above works on curves as well.) I don't know about the end sectins where the rail is cut.
Our hobby shop charges the same or insulated and rgular straihts.

what is a ton to you??? not trying to be a wise guy just getting a feel as i have tomars crossing signal that activates on its own and times its self out after train goes by and yes there are gates on em. i think i spent around 200$ for the set up.
