surely there are more aussies out there in the sub ether of cardmodelling? I've been cardmodelling 4 about 2 years and from the photos i have seen of other peoples work all i can say is i have a long way to go to get to that standards. but anyway who really cares as long as i have fun!
I'm in Brisbane - mostly do AFV models. There are a few others around in Oz
Were here Mick,
As for any standard of modelling, there is none, just have fun.
I'll show you how small the world is. I grew up at South Hurstville on King Georges Rd. My wife grew up at Mortdale. My Third and Fourth homes were the "Snake pit" at South Hurstville and the "Breeze" at Tom Ugly's. Hehe, your walking in my footsteps.
What are you building ?
hey peter h
you not talking about "the sleeze breeze hotel" are u. at the moment i'm between projects can't decide what to start next
I was born & raised in Sydney (Peakhurst), Unfortunately I've been stuck in Italy (work) for 20 years! Gotta get back & see how things have changed. My mates say I probably won't recognize it!
I've been building all sorts of scale model planes since I was 4 years of age & I'll probably keep at it till I finally kick the bucket. Cheers to all.
well vic talk about a small world I lived in narwee until I was 28. My parents still live there and I live at mortdale
It is indeed a small world! We might've even known each other as kids! I went to school at Penshurst Marist Brothers. Things used to be different back then, more orderly. Copped the cane just about evry day!
Same here Vic. I went to Blakehurst High School and had a few in my time.
Ran a business for nearly three years right beside the underpass to Narwee station.
Is there still a hobby shop in Penshurst?
I don't think there is the modelshop at Penshurst anymore and I think your friends would be pretty right about recognizing the local area. Hurstville has changed a lot Westfield expanded to twice the original size and the main street (Forest Rd) is one way. it also has a large asian community.
Too bad about my old stamping grounds - There go my fond childhood memories! What sort of models are you into? As for me, I've got to make a start on a 1/33 Sunderland, Halifax B. MkII, B-29, B-17 & a Lanc. As for ships I've got the HMV 1/250 Bismarck; GPM 1/200 Bismarck, Roma & Prince of Wales. Catch u later mate!
I just joined today and am also a member of SmartGroup Paper Models.
I just had a meeting at my place last Sunday which we had 4 people turn up. Next time I'll post a invite here also.
I live in Greenfield Park, NSW
Sydney(Aus) Papermodel group .... whatever
Welcome aboard Louis. We have been a bit slack and just had a "been here, done that", thread going which hasn't been too productive so you have plenty of room for something paper-ish.
All the best, Peter H.
