I think the plan is also included in 101 Track Plans for Model Railroaders. As I remember it takes a lot of space, but I'm not sure it is as effective a plan as something model more closely to part of the prototype. If I remember correctly, it didn't have enough passing sidings and no staging yards. Cajon Pass sees 80-100 trains per day, so you need some traffic to really replicate it.
