Got the forward ventral section with landing gear pods done. Butchered it a bit with lots of glue smears. Oh well, c'est la vie. Enjoy the blurry pics.

    Some of the detail:

Made a nasty looking but sturdy box to connect the two mandibles together:

Did the box thing for the engine ring too:

Together with knife as scale. Remember that this is half scale. You guys that build this at full scale need to see a shrink :D:

No, I don't know the original scale. It was nowhere to be found in the images.

Edit- Now you got me curious :)

    Let's see. Millenium Falcon is 90 feet long. This model is 12.5 inches. 90x12inches = 1080 inches/12.5 = 86.4

So I guess it's 1:86 scale. I used "Fit to printer margins" when printing this out, so that's probably why it's such a weird scale.

    Here's a not-so-blurry pic of finish ring.

You know your signline about having a bottle in front of you? I'd take that advice with this kit, especially at half-scale! In my experience, building something at smaller-than-full-scale is a lot more tedious than building the kit as-is. Just ask any of the guys who model really tiny stuff(like the fingernail-sized airplanes in the World's Tiniest Model Airplane Museum(sp?)), it's tougher than building larger objects.

    So, kudos!

I absolutely agree with you, Tyler. The smaller a model gets the harder it can be to build. But with this one the lack of tabs and any interior support does not lend to larger builds. Mine is about 12.5 inches and the saucer sections are really flimsy..even with 110lb stock. I can't imagine building it at twice the size. wall1

Here's the docking corridors installed (with customs tabs that will support the saucers). They slip over the ring. I then just glued some left over stock to the ends (2nd pic)
to add some support when the saucers are installed.

While it was a free download, neither Milleniumfalsehood nor me can find the original link. Is putting it up on a free download site a no-no? I tried repeatedly emailing the link on the pages themselves to get permission, but no reply (eskakempa@poczta.fm) for over two weeks. Would like to hear from a moderator on this one.

Edit - actually I should clarify that it's already up on a site that I use to backup stuff. I just need to to know about posting the link here.

Haha, that's the second day in a row I've seen someone looking for a "missing link" like this, gone looking for the link, then come back to post it only to find someone else beat me to it... :D

Took me a little longer than 3 minutes though, I went back through the falcon thread on kartonbau cos that's where I first saw it, but it's hard to just flip through the pages in that thread without stopping to admire the view :p

Okay that's weird, because I looked up the *exact* same page a few days ago and the Falcon wasn't there. I figured I just had faulty memory. . .

But I'm glad you found it. :)

LOL! Thanks for that Steve. I must be getting senile in my old age. :thumb: I'll put that link on the first post to make it easier for others who see this thread.

    And in other news:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Sigh. My kid's little school buddy thought it would be fun to play with it. I was on the computer in the other room. Came out and saw this:

I told the little &*%$# that he's not welcome over here any more. Dozens of hours down the tubes.
