Still new around here. What are all these parties I see in the forums?

Yard looks good so far, I should have one on my layout, but I took it out when I renovated the tracks (from what the previous owner had set up). The yard had to be backed into and pulled out of, and that was tricky. Not sure how to fix that, especially with only about a 2x3ft area

Hi Viperman,

A layout party is time when members make a commitmant to achieving some progress on their layout within a specified time period and then post what they get done along with the mutual encouragemenbt of other members participating. We used to have everyone's layout goals and progress posted in the same thread (ie. January layout party, etc.) but this last time decided to have members post individual threads. These are informal but motivating opportunites to get to work on projects we may have been putting off! :)

Here's a thread describing past parties and a listing of what current participants hoped to achieve.
