BNSF to BN SF Rumor, Iz it truuuueeee?

A gentleman I know works on the CN in Iowa. He thought he heard rumblings about BNSF un-merging.

Anyone else heard anything?

Doubt its true and even then, the "fight" over who gets what would be worse than the original merger.

Although it would be nice if this were true!!!

If it were to happen it would probably end up like the break up of the S.P. S. F. where Santa Fe cut loose the S.P. rolling stock and track, but kept all of the money. I doubt you would see a break up without some sort of government intervention forcing a breakup. If they have too much trackage, they might spin off more shortlines.
