Just wondered, did you see the special on the finding of the expanding gravitational eddies from the background radiation of the "Big Bang", which sounds like a cosmic porn flick.?

I didn't see the special (I don't watch TV) but I did read years ago speculation that The "Big Bang" progresses at different rates in other areas of the Universe where as we are 13.7 billion years for the incident of the Big Bang in our locality there are areas of the Space Time continuum where the initial bang is just occurring. We are just in a different gravitational eddy from that area. It was fascinating reading at that time but I have seen little since to second the theory.

Don't get me started on this, I can discuss it for hours/days. My daughter and I ruin every holiday for everyone else when we attend family dinners discussing these scientific topics. :D Can't wait for Thanksgiving.....

Meanwhile:

Weapons Mount Detail; Now It Can Be Explained:

Now that I have the Engineering levels side walls complete I can proceed with the yoke mounts with the hydraulic cylinder attach points.

uiO8LM0l.jpg

I am missing something on the detail as it appears the attach points have a circular rack and pinion system that allows the weapons to rotate as the yoke arm is raised and lowered. This came to me last night as I studied the drawing for the umpteenth time where it all came clear and the hydraulic system while seemingly unnecessary does have a purpose.

oclY04el.jpg

Hidden beneath the deck above the yoke must have an second hinge point that allows it to be raised and lowered by the hydraulic cylinders. The necessity for which or what ever reason I cannot fathom but it does explain much of the detail in the 3D image.

Elevating and lowering the main weapons say a few meters cannot make that much difference when they are mounted 30 to 40 meters off the ground to my mind but the artist included it in his design and so shall I but I'll eschew the capacity of movement on my model.

It does make for some interesting detail and detail is what 'tis all about when you come down to it. :D

If you look at a monitor and view moving images, whether on YouTube, etc. you watch T.V., of a kind I do watch Sci-Fi, it interests me, but I really enjoy when documentaries, such as the 2017 (after 9 years of looking) confirmation of the expanding gravitational waves that has been "seen". If gravity can expand, then can it compress? Apparently so, as most of the gravity apparent is from galactic dust, which has a much smaller waveform. This makes for an interesting kind of possible propulsion, it if could be harnessed. Just writing out loud. :)

Gravity works in mutual attraction which seems like compression but from all accounts it works as transverse waves as does light. Sound waves work in longitudinal waves as expansion and compression of the air or gas. The mutual attraction of gravitating particles toward a common center is what gives rise to celestial bodies; stars, planets, galaxies, globular clusters and galactic clusters.

More on Galactic gravitation and why there are elliptical, spiral and mega elliptical galaxies later.

Rxpansion of gravity is supposedly held back by black matter/energy (wave particle duality) which, as the universe is still expanding (the arrow of time, Heat), yet the galaxies themselves are not expanding, but moving further away from each other, while others, on that journey are colliding, s ours will, to form super Galaxies, makes me believe, this Galaxy, our "Milky Way", is what we have, it will be forever what we have until either expansion continues, or it all snaps back together, with the galactic plane being a torus shaped model, the universe will fall back into itself, only to start all over again. How many times has this happened? if true? These thoughts are what have been on my mind as of late, with the coming on of years. :)

This project is AWESOME!

I'm not a mechanical engineer or anything, but I could see that hydraulic system also helping with shock absorbtion. I meant that is one massive structure hanging from the arm, that moves up/down as the titan walks. It looks like it could help with that. (If there's another joint inside the body ofc. )

"Warhammer40K" is like "Star Wars", you must suspend your notion of reality. These things could be on extremely low gravity planets and made out of cardboard! None of their tanks have suspension, or not enough considering the fields of battle that are shown in pictures, but the reality is flat game boards, so why even have tracks? It has it's following though, and this is the best Titan I have seen, Bill Perry's is awesome, but his is made of paper, and that's Apples vs. Oranges. :)

SARP Stabilized Advanced Remote Weapon Platform;

As we approach the main armament mount ( A bit earlier than I intended. It would be a good idea to make sure the the 'guns' clear the hip joints.) there has been some speculation as to the functionality of the yoke arm hydraulic system.

I did some research into 'SARP Stabilized Advanced Remote Weapon Platform' and found some interesting tidbits.

First of all the SARP appears to be a linear system i.e. in line with the gun barrel

Linear Elevation/Stabilization Drive:
WAcWlim.jpg

so this eliminates the hydraulics as a gyroscopic stabilizer as the arm is perpendicular to the barrels besides raising the whole arm is much too massive an undertaking for something as sensitive as ground affect stablization. The hydraulics of that size could not respond quick enough.

Second there has been some criticism of the trunnion mount of the main gun. Accidentally or purposefully the author's (Joazzz) trunnion mount works well with the stabilizer system:

nZKAT4R.jpg

albeit sufficiently built up to Emperor Titan scale.
and so we're back to the intended purpose of the Hydraulic actuated arm.

I have really got to get a life. :D

To be honest, I'm not too impressed with that system. It's profile is too high, and if you look at the videos of it's targeting, it bounces all over the place. I cannot go into detail, but I have worked on stuff 30 years ago that was more stable than this. Lord only knows where it's at now. They were doing over the horizon back then and this thing, even under remote, is line of sight? These systems use nothing new, a servo drive/control system, which is basically stepper motors which can react blazing fast and in whatever increments you build the stepper motor to, and the gear you attach it too. The gearing allows for the weight, while a stepper motor can looking like a free spinning high speed motor, but stop instantly, using electronic braking to hold it's position, then move incrementally. The heat signature, never mind the radar signature, will make this the first target of opportunity. I believe they are designed more with civilian control than real defense, or maybe counter terrorists, but I would not want to be in a closed in situation with such a device, a can of paint will knock it out of commission, as would a well dropped steel weighted blanket. The Afghani's we knocking Hind's out of the air with boulders hitting the rotor systems, when they suckered the Helos into canyons, and these things are being mounted on trucks? On way to mission, before being a 1/2 mile out of the complex, a WWII vintage anti-tank gun could take out the optics with one shot. This is putting all your eggs in one basket. I guess the the source is more of interest than the actual gun. PKK watch out.

A week Of Detailing:

A week of detailing and while gratifying that so much was accomplished now that it is all back together it doesn't seem like all that much.

This first image shows the Yoke detail where the hydraulics will mount on the arm extenders.

IMG_1316.JPG

Pretty much the same shot from a lower angle.

IMG_1317.JPG

A quarter view showing the front yoke arm detail that required so much time for the actual amount of dressing up required.

IMG_1318.JPG

A 3/4 view of the left interior to show where the three maintenance/engineering decks will be and the reactor deck. I haven't worked that out yet.

IMG_1319.JPG

Finally a right 3/4 view showing off the weapon arm rack gear to it's best advantage and the sloppiness of my mancave/workshop.

hEkrwRJ.jpg

Time for a celebratory cognac and coffee.

This way, they will always be here. I just can really see how the sum of the parts has made something fantastic. Watching you make all those parts comes through too. It is a magnificent piece, drink your Cognac taking pride in your accomplishment so far! :)

Finally:

Now that the yoke is roughed out I can devote time to the interior levels of the engineering decks. A spot dear to my heart as I am a frustrated engineer or at least pretend to be on the internet. :D

Below is the slide out deck of the first engineering level cut and ready to insert into the lower hull.

IMG_1322.JPG

And that deck temporarily in place for adjustment.

IMG_1321.JPG

I plan to have the Fusion Reactor on these levels as in my Warlord which will take up the lion's share of the space. There will be one sub deck, three engineering decks and an egress to the command bridge (head) plus the altar and various religious accoutrements to the Omnissiah.

Jeez What a Mess:

All the sub components are just locked in place with interlocking tabs and while I know where the pieces actually go, the stability of the structures is tenuous at best.

Below we see the inner levels decks 2 through 4 deck 1 being done earlier this Summer. Decks 3 and 4 frame the yoke and have yet to receive their floors.

IMG_1324.JPG

I have not worked out how they will be removable and how the neck will intersect with the third deck flooring. Some sort of bull nosed staircase I imagine. It will all look rather techish and decadent as befitting a titan interior but I have plans for an altar structure with attendant priests as in the Warlord.

IMG_1325.JPG

Above we see looking down at deck 2 and the two angled walls that will support the yoke and underside of the superstructure deck again rather sparsely connected without glue or screws so it all appears quite a jumble at the moment.

The side view looking rather cleaner.

fr57fNzl.jpg

With the superstructure deck reinstalled the whole thing begins to tie together (Note that the jaw has disconnected for the visor) but all the rest of the components locking into their respective locations with barely a millimeter discrepancy that I can measure. Much of the precision purely by luck I assure you.

And the right side view of this hodgepodge.

A Series Of Interlocking Components:

It took a bit of doing but all the major components lock together to go from this .........

https://i.imgur.com/I4QDhMm.jpg
I4QDhMml.jpg

To this .......

https://i.imgur.com/S7OFsf2.jpg
S7OFsf2l.jpg

in about as much time as it takes (me) to type this. (Not being the world's fastest typist.)

https://i.imgur.com/0OHMIvq.jpg
0OHMIvql.jpg

So the entire model thus far can be disassembled for painting, upgrading and repaired at a whim.

lBdAkHKl.jpg

Now that the superstructure deck support is locked into place I can continue with the interior with the intermediate deck roughed in in the immediate above view.

With the deck removed you can visualize the two story engineering compartment.
