Thank you very much for this little tutorial. I'm planning to use the same technique for my Viper. Your texture looks so realistic that I believed you had used photos for it. Major kudos for your artistry; this is a phenomenal job! Keep it up, please! :)

I can't get my head wrapped around the whole U-V thing. I don't know if that comes into play and seeing your pictures on graphics is great, but I sure as Hell don't know how to get from one step to the next. Maybe, some day, if you felt, you could teach we, the willing, some of your technique. I have Adobe CS3 and CS5, but just use it for resizing and joining parts together. :)

oriod01: Don't know when, I hope that this year is the year! :D There is still a lot work to do.

Rhaven Blaack: Yes, there is some potential, just like skoda's work with twice printed thing, this is relatively easy model, but it can be modded even more, like many others.

zathros: I'm using CS5, I've learned to work with layers here and it is the best solution for this kind of thing, I've got some 15 layers on one sheet sometimes, each with various effects, photoshop is very helpful tool . ;)

Work with layers, weyland-yutani logo for the cargo doors:

O.K., that, my friend, has answered many question, in just once sentence. " Flattening at" the end would give the finished effect. Great!! :)

@Vger1981 : I made new markings and logos for the Battlestar Galactica Gemini kit a few years ago. I used the same technique in Gimp. ;)

You did a FANTASTIC JOB on this model!!!
Thank you for sharing it with us!!!

Since this is from the movie "Alien: Resurrection", I moved it to the "Aliens" Section in the Science Fiction & Fantasy Section. Your link still works though.

Revell-Fan: Actually, I've used PDFcreator for the unfolding-to-photoshoping process so often, that I forgot it could be usefull as the final format tool... :D My bad. Version 2 maybe? :D
Anyway, there was a lot of changes before this final version, so I hope that there are no fatal errors in the pack. I need to start a clean build to be sure. If somebody will find some problems, post it here for the others please, so I can correct it.

Rhaven Blaack: I wasn't sure about this category, you know... :D

I really like watching these process threads. So much to learn! Come next month, I'll be sure to D/L this bad girl and set to building her.

I was curious if it matters what size the jpeg images are printed out. I can print them at home on 8.5x11, or I can print it larger at the local staples. What size did you print it out on?

Default size for print is A4 paper standard, but Skoda is working on his Betty printed with laser on A3 and it looks ok. I'm not sure about american sizes.
I'm planning to convert it to PDF and make some other minor changes (colour saturation corrections), you can wait for that if it matters.
