Looking for the best place to get HIGHLY detailed building kits.I can do a lot myself to them, but you must have something to start with. I am doing a small layout from about 1900. The last of the old west.If you know a place to get something like this ,let me know.

Bar Mills has their "The 1 Kit", www.barmillsmodels.com a collection of wooden walls, doors and windows. Rusty Stumps Scale models has some great detail parts, their shingles are great.

As to paper, I will be using scaled down and computer printed versions of the "Dover Books" models for mockups on my layout. Start with a paper model, add some Rusty Stumps Shake Shingles and they look quite good, cheap background buildings.

Of course the DMP kits make great "downtown buildings".

Two other manufacturers worthy of a look would be the Rustic Rails line from www.musketminiatures.com and Hirst Arts architecture www.hirstarts.com if you are looking for buildings with the Spanish flair.
