Barge stuck at bridge in Toledo

There is a barge stuck in the first railroad bridge from the mouth of the Maumee River in Toledo, OH. The barge is loaded with 40,000 barrels of high octane gasoline.

This happened about 8:40 AM (6/17/04). There are, according to reports, 13 trains currently being held because of this.

They are trying to move the barge at this time using two tugs. They seem to have it free now (12:15). They now have to check the bridge for damage before resuming RR service.

Seems to have been caused by the fast currents due to the current very high water flood conditions.
