DOSE ANYONE OUT THERE IN STEAM LAND KNOW THE REASON WHY A MECHANICAL LUBRICATOR WOULD OR WOULD NOT BE USED. I'M DETAILING THE CAB OF MY G-SCALE SHAY AND BACHMANN DID NOT INCLUDE ONE. I JUST NEED TO KNOW IF THEY WERE TYPICAL IN AN ENGINE OF THIS SIZE.(36 TONS).

ALSO, DOSE ANYONE KNOW WERE I MIGHT FIND A GOOD CLOSE UP PICTURE OF A STEAM PREASURE GAUGE. ONE I COULD POSSIBLLY DOWN LOAD AND MAKE A DECAL OF.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP:D :D :D

Paul,
For the most part, shays weren't "complex" enough to warrant the expense of a mechanical lubricator. They used a bullseye, or hydrostatic type lubricator. In most of the pictures I've seen of the cab interior of shays, the "bullseye" lubricator is the one I've seen.
The #5 shay at Cass has a bullseye lubricator, got a picture of it. The MDC booklet, the shay modelers guide also shows the same bullseye lubricator. I've got that also. If you need either give me a call, I'll get them to you.
