BACHMANN DD40AX Help (wheels)

Ok, small question. I think we all know bachmann did this model in Regular (White box), Bachmann Plus, and Bachmann Spectrum models.
Does anyone know if the drive wheels on the single powered white box are the same as the dual drive spectrums?
I refuse to pay $30 to NWSL for a plastic gear.
