Hello all,
is there an easy and foolproof way of connecting the code #83 EZ track to the Atlas code # 83, which is supported by cork roadbed? Are the heights the same, or just aproximate?

The heights will be approximately the same. You may need to find yourself a razor saw and do a little surgery, but virtually all track can be connected to any other (assuming the same scale of course ;) :D).

The likeliest way to join these is to cut the end of the EZ track square, and "liberate" the rails from the last couple of ties. You will need to create enough room under the rails to put rail joiners on. Running some sandpaper between the base of the rail and the plastic tie/spike detail should do it. Be careful not to bend the rails out of alignment.

Then run your cork up to the plastic roadbed, and connect your flex track with the modified EZ track end. If they are not the same height, you can either sand down the cork roadbed, or shim it to make it match. Either way, make the transition smooth - space it out over 12-24" depending on the difference you need.
