Earlier today I went to an auction out side of town. There were 18 engines and about 170 cars in N-scale plus 2 layouts ,several buildings ,a KATO Amtrak set, and track.
I payed about $350 for 64 cars (mainly ATLAS, some Con Cor Autoracks, and intermodal cars, but all with rapidos), 3 locos (2 ATLAS CSX GP-30M, and a CONRAIL Gp-35). I also got 64 Model Railroaders! I noticed some strange things:
- A fool payed $50 for an Atlas Chessie SD-7 and another $50 for a Bachman U-36B, both used!
- Another guy spent $300 on a used KATO passenger kit with 3 E-8 and about 10 cars.
- I heard about a fella who has 3000 pieces of rolling stock (showed me photos) and no layout!!!!
- I saw a fool pay $150 for 3 Bachman F-7.
