Attention: ATLAS DCC Equipped Shay Customers
Re: Reservations have been cancelled
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING NOTICE VERY CAREFULLY!
On March 1, 2004 ATLAS Model Railroad Company, Inc. decided to drop the "DCC Equipped" Shay Locomotives from their offerings. The company claims they will be offered "at a later time". Due to this, we at THE N-SCALE DIVISION have automatically cancelled all customer's reservations for ATLAS "DCC Equipped" Shays. We cannot accept reservations for a product that a company has dropped. We've been in this business long enough to know that when a company drops a product it may stay dropped for a very long time, perhaps permanently even though they claim it will be offered "at a later time".
The good news is that ATLAS still plans to offer the Shay Locomotive in it's "DCC Ready" form. These models come ready for installation of a DCC decoder that can be installed by the customer. At this time we have no word on whether this will be an interface that requires soldering, a "Plug-N-Play" socket or something in between. Delivery of the "DCC Ready" Shay is estimated to begin in August 2004.
If you want one of the "DCC Ready" Shays, please go to our website immediately and reserve one using our online shopping system. Again, this is NOT automatic! Your "DCC Equipped" reservation has been cancelled, if you want to reserve a "DCC Ready" model you will need to place a new reservation on our website at
http://www.nscaledivision.com. The deadline for reservations is Friday March 19, 2004. This deadline is absolute. Once reached we cannot take anymore reservations - no exceptions! If you want to reserve a "DCC Ready" model please do so today!
