i just bought an athearn f59phi from athearn genesis its not a quick plug dcc so im having a little trouble getting it to become dcc equiped so if anyone has any suggestion on decoder and instalation.

i forgot to mention mine is ho scale do you think it will matter if i follow the directions or do you think it will mess it up?

Yes, it could make a difference. Try to find the directions for your specific locomotive. The Digitrax list is reasonably complete, so your loco should be there somewhere.
