    Apollo Capsule Internal Bulkhead Formers

    Carl,

As I was cutting out the internal formers on page 13 (parts nr 59), I realized that they probably would have to look something like this to correspond to the current heat shield and internal 'floor' or 'back wall' bulkhead, behind the astronauts seats:

Of course the correct rounded shape would be desired, but it will require some more cutting work.
Perhaps two versions of the formers - a round and a straight one? What´s your view on this?

    All the best,
    Bengt :D

    Hello

The squared off version will be too stylized, (I think). I will look at it in the morning. I used the profile from the cross section. I will check it against the final shield contour, (and correct it).

    Thanks for the heads up.

Talk to You in the morning.

    Apollo Command Module 1:24 Scale

    Hi all,

I found this picture, which might help with the positioning of the interior parts (the seats are missing):

The Skylab paint scheme has been changed, (I was wrong, (The white does not go all the way around)). Thanks for pointing it out.

    See You later,

Hey Carl, Rev 8 really looks great!

Would it be possible to get a thin line put around part 27 on page 8?

Can't see where to cut it out as it is so faint.

    No Problem!

I will put a light line around it. I also need to put the rescue arrow back on the Skylab hatch, (Opps!). Hope the rest is looking up to snuff?

    Ok

I will post one in the morning, (unpainted). I know Dhanners will want it that way too. I have to do a wallsection, for a meeting in the morning. Then finish some instructions for this project. Got to go.

    Enjoy,

    Carl

    Thanks Carl!
It's really great to have a responsive designer right here, working right along with the builders to create something everyone will enjoy!8)

    Thanks for everything!

    Fyi

I will publish the instructions sometime tomorrow. I also saw a publish error in the pdf of the Skylab option, (Part 4 got overlapped by a glue tab part, (That should not be there). I will fix this and add the rescue arrow to the main hatch, (When I put out the instructions).

    Have a great night,

    Carl

    Apollo CM Silver Chrome 'Skin'

    Hi all,

I have looked at some 'silver' papers but most of the ones I´ve looked at are dull and gray and hasn´t got the proper 'shine' for the Apollo CM. Sadly, I can´t obtain the Red River Silver paper here in Sweden - I´ve been in contact with the company but they refuse to send it to Sweden.
David Weeks has got it right on his resin model:

I got the idea that I could try with thin strips of aluminium 2" duct tape. I think I´ll do that. I´ll post a pic if it turns out OK. It´s worth a try . . .

Perhaps we should continue down and build the whole Saturn V in 1:24 scale, now that we have such a marvellous beginning? It would be roughly twice as big as this 1:48 scale one (which is a launchable plastic rocket with functioning F-1 model rocket engines):

    All the best,
    Bengt

    Instructions are out

Rev. 9 and instructions are in the hands of our Host! I have been looking at the Mylar tape pattern. At this scale the best method, (I see), is to publish a lite line version. Then the builder can print/plot on high gloss precolored paper. I will rework the interior with more detail, (and update as You guys find flaws, and new research stuff).

    Thanks,

    Carl
I am going to work on the SM today.
