    I must take a rest from Atlantis , so I decidet to complete my diorama. I hope to finish it this time :) now I´m working on MESA , but I´m not quite sure how to build it :) I was going to build the ALSEP set , but it was 110 meters far from LM , so I have bad luck - I only have one apartment:mrgreen:

    So are you ready ???:mrgreen::mrgreen:

    U-Don´s Factory Lunar Module Paper Model, Japan?

    Dyna Soar,

    I am pretty sure that the free model that wedge is referring to is the amazing and detailed (hand-designed) 1:48 scale U-Don LM: U-DON'S FACTORY

    Am I right, wedge?

    Not to be rude or anything like that, but as I am on my school's ROTC color guard, you have the flag hung the wrong way. (I just care for my country and it's symboylism and I feel I needed to just let you know) hope you don't find this offending. :sad:

    The Stars and Stripes on The Moon . . .

    Hi wedge,

    You are doing a great job of this amazing Apollo 15 diorama. And, you are indeed an ambassador of international good will . . .

    Here is a picture of the very first US flag, planted on the Lunar surface by the crew of Apollo 11 on the 20th of July, 1969 - please note how 'Buzz' Aldrin, inside his golden visor, is peering onto Neil Armstrong, who is holding the (Swedish) Hasselblad Lunar camera. Note also that the flag is suspended from a horizontal rod, as there is no wind on the Moon:

    Carry on with your interesting model build - good luck.
    All the best from Stockholm,

    FINALLY !!! My diorama is completed. It took me almoust a half year . I apologize for the similar images, but I like the shadows :) I tried to make clear and edgy shadows just like they are on the Moon.BTW - astronauts are from some playset for kids - only recolored :) So there it is...

    + 1000 other superlatives. :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

    Great lighting effects.
    Great photography.
    Great modelling.

    One of those pix should be POTW! But how to choose?

    Thank you for sharing.

    Apollo 15 Lunar Base Diorama

    Congratulations, wedge!

    What a marvellously realistic and beautiful diorama. The Lunar Module, with it´s matte black and golden foil areas, is superb - a real gem! And so is the Lunar Rover with it´s 'net', hollow wheels. And the astronaut figures are perfect to scale and very nicely hand painted. On the whole, a very fine example of truly expert modeling. I particularly like the footsteps!
    You must be very proud now that you have finished such a long build with such a success. And thank you so much for sharing these fine close-up photos. Even the lighting is true to the harsh, black Lunar environment.

    All the best from Stockholm,
    Bengt

    PS. A little engraved brass (or perhaps golden foil card) name plate, with date, year, mission, etc, would make it all the more interesting and complete, in my opinion.
