yes i am sure buddy.with a BEC the reciever is powered from the 6cell pack that powers the motor.with a Nitro car you have no 6cell pack powering the car.so you need a seperate pack to power the reciever.that is simple

I know that the reciever needs the battery, but in your earlier post you said that the speed control has BEC.

dude the battery is connected to the speed control and then a wire comes off of that going to the reciever. eliminating a use for an extra pack. that means that the speed control has the BEC and not really the reciever

Alright, that makes sense. Thanks guys, I was always under the impression that the receiver had the BEC because it was always a major selling point for BEC receivers, but what you guys says makes sense.

i bought some more fuel for my t maxx today, and it runs hot. it is 20% just like what i was using, only a different brand. do you have to reset the carb when you change to a different brand too? also, if i take out the front drive shaft, and make it 2 wheel drive, will it do wheelies? and will it be faster, slower, or the same speed?

no,brands dont matter. it will do the same speed and everything but loose traction, maybe wheelie...matters whear you are running.

Eric, you also have to consider oil content in your fuel, some brands have more or less than others, this will cause changes in temp, also remember you have to retune everytime the weather changes even a little. The tune will change from weather temp, humidity, atmosphereic pressure. Anytime you change fuels, brands or nitro%, you will usually have to retune.
Taking the front driveshaft and axles out will offer these advantages, quicker acceleration, smaller turning radius, and if you pull the diff also, lighter front end, it will pull wheelies easier.

The cover for the head is to protect it from scratches, depends on if you want to buy another one.
