Hi All: I have a friend who wants to buy a model train, possibly "O" gauge but would like it to be American made. Does such a company exist? I deal in N gauge and am not familiar with "O" guage manufacturers.
    Thanks

Lionel....Check out the "Caboose" thread. A ton of O gauge modelers there. I'm sure they know a bunch of others...

Weaver is (mostly) American made. Some parts are imported I think. The rest of the manufacturers are all made in the Far East now, including Lionel.

If he's willing to collect/operate older equipment (prewar or postwar) there's a LOT available that was made in the U.S. Lionel and Marx trains are still plentiful and affordable (well, some of it) and a lot of fun to collect and run!

Very little new O scale is made in America these days.
