Hey, thanks for all the nice comments!
To tell the truth I don't know what the weed I use is called.
It's fairly tall and this time of year it looses it's blooms and turns brown (dead) Around here it's all over the place.
I just remove the seed's and anything else that don't look scale.
the rest is done with Woodland Scenic Poly Fiber and mixed ground and coarse turf. held in place with hair spray. There is another trick that involves a lighter but not healthy for the youngest readers to try
I'll post a how to as best I can on the tech forum.

t., That's a superb bit of modelling. Everything, the rocks, the portal, the trestle, the ground cover and trees. It's so realalistic, I'm in awe of it. That short line freight train looks right at home there.
