Its coming along slowly.
I'm busy doing my head in working on the raised are around the grounds.
Does anyone know an easier way instead of working through it geometrically?

Trying with images again

This must be me. Probably forgot to press the upload button. This age thing… I tell you.
Images of the colouring and scanning and some major design plans. For the raised area around the hrad, I'm working it all out by hand and angle. The looooong way and it's taking ages. Does anyone know an easier way? I have a Mac so I cant use Pepakura.

Otherwise the actual Images are starting to get there. See the Last image. Lots of photoshop and illustrator work. Deadline before Christmas for the castle section at least. We will see how it goes…

Thanks Rogerio. And thanks for the help, suggestions and motivation, I really do appreciate it.
I am actually using coloured pencils and scanning in the images at 1200 ppi, fixing them in photoshop liquify and bringing them into illustrator. Then back and forth to get them perfect. Finally numbering and labeling. Will try to move faster on this. Want to get floor and castle finished before Christmas.
Cheers

Another quick update

Here are some more images.
The illustrator doc showing the different outlines and some images of a built model with correct geometry. Found some areas where I could improve on and making the necessary changes...

Couple more images

Thanks Zathros,
Here's a couple more images of the inside wall including a close up. I think I might have to fix up that door handle though

Testing out the door folding from the base

Ok, got the first part done.
I have a habit of trying more complex folds in favour of the usual ones that actually work. Also by folding and fitting, I can see more readily where I need to make corrections to the design.
It seems to be taking a lot longer than I had originally planned and while the first tests were very quick, as I get more into it, I find more to correct.
At the moment, business work seems to be taking my spare time, so I might not make my deadline. Nevertheless I am still trying for it. Just need to focus...
Here are some images of the door fold testing which I might just have to scrap.

Christmas holidays are coming... 12 day countdown....:thumb:

Great !
Real "Old-school" Handcraftmanship.

Please don't spoil it with the dotted foldinglines ;-(

Keep up this fine project.

No folding lines? I thought people preferred them. But OK, will take them out.
Thanks for the feedback

One of the things that you can do is, just outside the cut lines, make "fold line" marks to show how a part is to be folded without having the actual line go through the part.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

Missed my deadline

The crazy end-of-year-finish-everything-before-Christmas time has taken its toll. And, well, I will not meet my deadline to finish before Christmas. None the less, I have some free time on my hands now and am planning to use it to complete this project. I have started with the roofs but am still quite far behind where I wanted to be at this time.
Mostly, a great thanks to all of you who have inspired and motivated me. May you all have a great festive season. Here in NZ, it is summer and I will be taking my old carcass to the beach at some stage. In between that, I am still working on this hrad.
Thank you all for a great intro into forums
More hrad coming soon
