Yeah that's the REAL reason............... but I think you deserve it because you are building a beautiful(so far!) shuttle!

But hey my two cents just went down because of inflation!

    Cockpit looks great!

It's the Shimada 1:50 shuttle. I'd post the link, but I've lost it. (This is a perfect example of my organisational skills, or lack thereof.)

It is however, a work of absolute genius. The parts almost put themselves together!

OK, so a little more progress. There should be pic of the SR-71 builds soon too!

I've added the piece that functions as the start of the delta wings:

and, slightly out of order, finally put the roof on the cockpit:

I'd left it open because I was planning to put the window "glass" inside the cockpit, but reading through the instructions properly, I realise that I don't need to. So, on it goes!

I really can't express how much I'm loving this kit! It's such a friendly build, and the end result is going to be so huge it can't fail to be spectacular!

    Hey Ash and Regie,

Check out the first thread: http://www.cardmodels.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5025
-the link to the model is on the first page.

The model is made by the Japanese card model designer Hisato Shimada. He has also made a similar (very large, 1:50 scale) model of the ascent stage (the upper part) of the US Lunar Module, that is "The Eagle" which landed on the Moon on July 20th, 1969.
I remember vividly seeing it on TV at the restaurant of a seaside resort on a vacation in Sweden - it was jampacked with people who wanted a first glimpse of the Moon´s surface from the LEM´s camera.

    All the best from

I keep getting URL not found or one of those internet errors that everyone gets all the time but hate seeing.

I'll stick to the simple variety since I build at a small scale. 8v) But first, there be a lot of models to repaint, redesign and design.

I can't gain access to the website anymore either - which is a shame because I'd love to get my hands on that LEM...

Does anyone know if Hisato Shimada is still designing? I'd love to see what he's working on now...

    Disaster!

I'm missing all the "BD" pages for the Shimada Shuttle, and they aren't in the PFD parts file I have!

Is there anyone I can swipe them from? Bengt? You've helped me out once - can you save me again?

    Shuttle now has a nose!

    Well, most of one:

However, I've messed it up slightly - if you look at the base

you can see that the pieces don't fit together too well - nothing to do wiht Shimada's design, everything to do with my lack of care. Still, nothing that can't be fixed with a bit of filler - I'll be painting the model, so it's not the end of the world.

    However, look at this:

I've really massed that up at the top - you can see the gap! Fortunately I think with a bit of care, some glue and a sharp knife I can repair the damage. We shall see!
