All we need now is a Thunderbird 5, and we will have the set. Nice work. I had a go at TB-1 and got frustrated at the fit of some of the parts and lack of instructions, but seeing yours turn out so well, I might have a go with some heavier paper.

here's a few more pics to help with your build.
parts fit very well....i only modified where the wing holder attaches to the main rocket body..instead of making the cut holes i just shaped it a little..not too hard
    take a look

Hey... are you suuurree your only a beginner uglyguy..??

That is one nice build, crisp, clean and true... Another excellent job on that nose cone (I still can't roll cones that well!) The tubes parts look almost manufactured ~ excellent effort. + I love your poetic licence with the pics (first post) ~ very 'Anderson-ish"

    most excellent !

    hey thanks
    yes....3rd paper build....
nose cones...this is how i approach them...use minimal amount of glu so it stays dry and doesnt get soggy......using wooden toothpick inside cone, roll starting from tip of cone and roll tighter than what you need..then use tip of pencil to expand it....dont press the tip too much as this tends to warp it....hope this helps

credit must go to whomever designed this great model.(hiro)
i'm looking forward to building the other 'birds....although that mole and sub look a little wall1
this is the original pic that i got from the net.....and what i did with it
i had to enlarge it too as this was the size of the original

    thanks mate
i'm really enjoying making these designs
so many great designs to make.....it would be a damn shame to make them and not display them in a suitable "diorama".
already planning the circular building for thunderbird 3 to "blast out of"
and of course the runway and bent palm trees for "bird 2

Thanks for the cone tip 9... I'll give it a try ( tried just about every other method) Totally agree on the diorama, they really set a model off. Are you saying your going to design/build the circular house TB 3 launches through..?

*Give me a sec, I'm sure I have a 3D model of the building somewhere..

Yep it was included with TB3 as a add-on/MOD for 'Orbiter' ~ the space sim.

It looks a little rough and out of proportion, not to hard to correct though.. If/when you get to building TB3, send me a PM, and i could convert it to a rough pattern set for you, if you need one.

    Very very nice build uglyguy!!!
But you need more then TB1 to battle DOGZILLA :)
I suggest TB2 with POD 6 which holds the Firefly but I haven't seen ep#36 so I could be wrong

egads man... Do you have multiple sets of arms + fingers? Tip ~ You must EAT and SLEEP between build's 9 lol

TB3 build ~ I hate to use corny terms, but your a bit of a natural at card modelling. I'll put a fiver on you having some sort of design / artistic background ( did I miss it in the introductions ?). + I think your going to have to add 'Crisp, Clean and True, to your sig! lol another great build so far.

    * So you wanting the building as a pattern set is a 'GO' then? if so, PM me with your thoughts on how you like to build it + the diameter of the finished TB3 model. ~ The building will have to be modified to suit the ship.

btw.. is that a picture or a real puppy in the background?

    hi gearz
nice profiling on me. :thumb: .....yes..being an artist for a sign company in australia has taught me to hand cut using a blade really well. i dont use any scissors.
i think most of these designs can be "won or lost" in the cutting stage.
    thats my jack russell INDY
love to use your design but i will complete bird 3 so i can give you a size.
i'm on 2 weeks holidays so i have a bit of time...
thunderbird 1 took me about 6 hours total.....probably a bit longer for thunderbird 3 and i have started building 'bird 2.
i'll pm you shortly with some ideas and stuff
