The price is a bit hefty, but the idea is kinda neat.
We bought one at work, but my friend that was using it could never get it to work right. Anything with a gloss surface you had to coat with baby powder to get it to scan. Even then he would scan 8 or 10 times and try to merge it back together into one object. I had a dull finish Matchbox car and he still couldn't get it to scan the way they show it in their video. I think they show scanning a Star Wars Naboo Fighter twice and merging the two scans to form one 3D object. We could never get it to work like that.
