Hello everyone, I am new to this group. I am under construction of a Lionel “O” gauge layout with older engines. Does any one have experience with converting old Lionel engines to remote control. I would like to operate 2 or 3 engines at the same time without a block system.

    Mahoney,
I have upgraded 3 engines to TMCC, and had 1 upgraded to PS2. I would recommend that you visit a hobby shop and pick up both the Lionel and MTH catalogs. Then look at the cost of a NEW engine with radio control, and then consider the cost of upgrading and the relative value of what your updating.

In my opinion I do NOT plan on updating anymore. The detail on the newer engines is really fantastic. Unless of course there is strong sentimental value.

TMCC and TPC's for each main line on my layout. They run so much better with TPC's and Cab1.
