    Hey Mike -- Any chance that was the Mk IX flown by Wacław Król in N. Africa? :) Any relation?

    ZX-6 was mostly used by Stanislaw Skalski.
    They only had 10 planes and 15 pilots <edited: makes more sense now...> so nobody had personal planes and the kill amrkings are for all the pilots flying this particular plane.

    Waclaw Krol - same last name, not a relative...

    There is several Spitfires around, but yours will be first trully good Mk IX.

    442's restoration project, I'd pretty much forgotten it.

    I had the choice between going to 442 Sqn in Comox or 417 at Cold Lake after my trades training, Comox was mighty tempting, but the "aluminium death tube" was just so much sexier than Twotters, and Voyageurs.
