    To all,

The Cougar is now in Chris's hands and will be available soon at ecardmodels.com.

NEXT: Since the Cougar was the sweptwing variant of the Panther, it is only natural that a model of the Panther could be designed using parts from the Cougar.

So, the Panther is my next project....

    Stay Tuned..

Man, I have ALWAYS loved the Cougar and Panther... Thought they were the coolest looking fighters of the early jet age.

Wouldn't you know that I just acquired three other models I've been seeking for years, and probably don't have time to build these Grumman beauties?

Don't matter a bit. I'm gonna add them to the collection and do it as I can.

    Thanks!!

The next 2 posts show the basic design of the Panther. I took these shots directly from the computer screen (Pepakura).

Converting the Cougar was not as straight forward as I originally thought. The Panther has a blunter nose, no chin, completely different wing roots and intakes, the tail is shorter, elevators are straight, and rudder is shorter.

    Man, you're a WIZARD!

I have got a wire-frame 3-D model of an aircraft that I'd just love to have someone like you make into plans...

    Interested? PM me!

Nice, although I still think that the F2H3 Banshee was the best looking straight wing jet that flew off carriers.

Ah well, I suspect that the Panther or Cougar wouldn't have been any challange to fly off the Bonnie... I still think that we should have bought the A-7 or the A-4 as a replacement to the Banjo, had we done so, we might still be in the tailhook club.

I expect that both Trudeau and Helle

I'm backing Getter1 on this one. The Panther and the Cougar had elegant lines. If I had to pick one it would be the Panther though!

According to a source I found, the RGB for the Blue Angels Blue is: 36, 52, 167.

    Hope this helps.
