are you talking about your rustler? dont you have it geared low? that would be why yours grips. the bandit is geared hiugher than the stock rustler

i dont understand what you mean on how if it is geared low it would be the reason it grips.it is the tires and surface that makes it grip.

also my Rustler is Way far from stock.

I'm just gonna use a hack saw to cut all of my pieces out. I bought 3, 4 ft., 1/4 in. steel rods last night. The only thing that really sux about my end of this project is i dont have a garage for work space, all i have is a bedroom floor!!, not cool!

bed room floor is good enough if it is big enough.how are you going to put the peices together? you can cut them with a hack saw as you said.i would drill holes and use rivits to hold the frame together.no need for welding.

if you are geared low then you wont have as much wheel spin. what kind of tires are you using? the stock have little grip

i have heard of rivets, but i'm not clear on how to use them, I would consider that over a welded frame, but would it be as strong??

a weld would be stronger but a rivet would be strong enough.

you need a rivet gun.go to a hardware store or Home Depot and ask somone for help.

there are different size rivets too so make sure you get ones small enough.i use small rivets for other things like gutters and stuff like that.i predrill the hole where the rivets go with an 1/8 in. drill bit.

you can also bolt it all together.that might be stronger than rivets

i'm just looking for something that would really hold together nice if and when i do flip the car. SO welding is strongest, bolts are next strongest, and rivets are the least???

rivits sound cool but i'm not sure how to connect 2 pieces of round bar together with it. i think bolts would look like #@$% but rivits might look ok.

ya but i think im just gonna weld everything. I welded once b4 and had a blast so it would be cool to go behind the mask again.

ya, but sometimes it can be a pane. i think i might try rivets first or use them to hold everything in place for welding.

i think i'm goin with rivets. talked to my dad and he said they were reallystrong. try to use the least amount of pieces as possible if ur making a cage it will be much stronger.
