i think i'm going to make a cage for my bandit first just to see how it comes out. it will be much easier and then maybe duplicate the one from that link

i was thinking to build the lower chassis to fit my evader front/rear(with screw's lined up correct, ect.),get ther steering components all lined up and functioning, make my own mounts and spots for all electronice to the spots i want them to be. and then i thought about getting a sprint car body before i got sarted on the roll cage part of the car...

thats a good idea. i could design a chassis on a program and the machine would cut it all for me

that is sweet. If i design my chassis on my auto cad, if i were to put it on a floppy disk, or two, and send it to you would he be able to cut stuff out??Im not sure if he could take designs from my auto cad and prgram it into his CNC, but i figured i'd ask.

ok. um, auto cad is a cad program made for mostly mechanical design. in the program, they give u a blank paper, like microsoft paint, and you put in the scale u want the drawing to be, you then draw all ur lines and put in the length's of them. When ur all finished, i think u can save it to a floppy disk and out it into a CNC machine and it will take the design and cut it out. (if you watch american hotrod, on discovery channel, they show a guy designing part on the CAD and sending it over to the CNC machine, ready to cut)

it'd be like 45 bux for a body and wing!!!! SO it looks i'll be fitting my own body, wing, chassis, frame all from 1/4 in. steel and 22 gauge sheet metal.

ya the lexan body it self, w/ out the wing was 19.95 and then the wing was the same price. So when you get done paying for the paint, youve spent like 45 bux. So, like i said, it'd be a lot easier for me to build up my own. After all it would make it more "1 of a kind" and custom looking.
