Awesome work! That is tight! The finished Cylon is going to be insanely incredible! Thanks in advance for this epic addition to the annals of papercraft.

Thank you both. I don't know about epic, but it's getting there. Should have it done and covered with primer today.

I may be tempted to fiber glass it using your templates, for my own use. It is really cool!

I'll be incorporating electronics and sound effects into this card model project. Also, please see SJS's link to modifying Birthday sound cards.

There's nothing you can't do with a card model. You're only limit is your imagination.:thumb:

Although the Cylon head might look a little rough in these shots, it's all part of the process...... At least for me. Essentially what I've done is re-enforce the inner part of the models, because, Earth Normal Gravity Conditions dictate that the model as cardstock will not support the wright of the fiberglass and polyester resin. Therefore it neccesitated strengthening. After re-enforcing the interior, I started adding thin layers of 3M Spot Putty to smooth the edges, then primer, then sand, then repeat.....

....putty, primer, sand.....repeat..... The next step is to finish the lower part of the construction, add some more supports, fiberglass more on the interior, then start cutting in and building out the exterior shapes and contours.

There's quite a lot of interesting stuff there period, however, most of it is old school and sorry to say, that's not my main interest. I find the NBSG to be far superior.

A couple of update photos..... I've about got it where I want it for more fiberglass and to begin to pull some of the contours out with polyester and playdoh. [Waits for the comments and chuckles about playdoh.]

As you can see, I've got the grill in and the last of the card work. I've concentrated on smoothing the left side of the head and will be shifting to the other side and then it's ready to start the sculpting part of this project. I'm confident that when the sculpting is over and this is painted chrome that it will look quite nice. After looking through thousands of screen grabs and hundreds of Cylon photos I know exactly what I need to change on this to make it look screen acurate. I may revisited the mesh one more time, or I may leave up to those that wish to

HI . LOL! Actually, I think it looks like hell right now, but I can see the potential and can't wait to get to the sculpting part of this endeavor.
I've been working on a schematic of corrections needed and will start the modifications and sculpting toot sweet. :thumb:
