I live in Scotland, in the UK. I visited the area years ago. What sort of rolling stock should i be looking for, seems Amtrak and BNSF run there, but not too sure.

I am thinking of Oregon and Portland area of the US.

Hi All Layout planning is coming along, will post a plan soon. I have been slightly naughty and brought a Branchline lighthouse kit. Whilst my layout will not be based on any area, does anyone know where i might find ideas on how to incorporate this into the layout? Cheers Dave

Have looked at mike small layout plans and brought a book called 'Basic Model Railroad track plans' which has 4x8 HO plans which i can reduce to N gauge. Two have caught my eye, Kootenay Lake and Madison Central, so i think with some minor adjustments i think i have a track plan.

I am going to base my layout in the 1950's, so am interested in what locomtoives for both passenger and freight services i should be looking at. Is there a website that can offer help? Thanks
