    N scale caboose

I stripped the Walthers Caboose and airbrushed it with Floquil boxcar red. It seems to be pretty close colorwise with the old Erie Caboose pics I have.

    LifeLike N scale 2-8-4 Berkshire

How do you get the body shell off without breaking anything? I can't see any screws that mount it. I see the screws on the bottom, but I think those are for the gear cover. I want to give it a coat of Dull Coat before I start weathering. Any help would be appreciated.

    N Scale Lifelike/Walthers Heritage 2-8-4

Thanks Kevin. I was into HO scale years ago and do remember how important it is to have the gears & drivers quartered on Steam locos. I have had pretty good luck on Ebay with N scale. This is the first time I have had any trouble with a steam loco in N scale. Hopefully, I'll get a refund as...

    N Scale Lifelike/Walthers Heritage 2-8-4

I swear one of these days I will start a thread without a problem. I purchased an N scale 2-8-4 Lifelike back before Xmas. When I went to run it on my test track - it moved about an inch and quit. It would not go into reverse. After inspection I found that one of the drive rod pins came out of...

    ConCor caboose

Since my first post on the caboose issue - I did a little experimenting. I was able to pry the plastic floor/brake wheel/ladder area off just above the coupler box. The plastic piece acts as a cover for the coupler and you can replace the coupler & spring. But it still looks like the grinding...

    ConCor caboose

Just bought a couple of N scale ConCor bay window cabooses. I would like to install MicroTrain couplers. My problem is this: The factory rapido couplers are installed in boxes that are part of the cast metal frame. I see no way (short of grinding the boxes off) of removing the stock couplers. Am...

    N scale caboose

I'm looking for an N scale bay window caboose. I am modeling the Erie RR and I'm finding certain Erie stuff hard to come by. I have the decal set for the bay window caboose (4 window). Walthers has a bay window caboose, but not in the Erie paint scheme. I kinda hate to pay $13.00 + postage...

    CocCor passenger car trucks

I would like to replace the stock trucks & couplers on my N scale ConCor passenger cars. What Micro Trains trucks/couplers will work? The current stock trucks have the couplers mounted to them. I would like the same set up from Micro Trains. Thanks
