Start of my New Camas Prairie Layout.

Well to be clear I don't have this space yet. I am waiting for a transfer to go through but it might be some time. Not sure if it will be in a basement or a shop. I designed it to be flexible to fit the final dimensions. For now I am going to start with the Paper Mill island.

Start of my New Camas Prairie Layout.

Well I got my first shipment of items in this week. A few sets of Atlas Code 55 track, a Micro Engineering Viaduct trestle that will become Lawyers Canyon Viaduct, and a 2pc set of Walthers 45' Burlington Northern Log cars.

    Walthers cornerstone info. needed.......

Not that I know of. What I do is find the dimensions for it and make my own templates or cut-outs to place and move around.

Start of my New Camas Prairie Layout.

Well there is actually alot of grassland and rock facings on the route. A fair amount of trees for sure but I'm not planning on having it done next year either ;)

Start of my New Camas Prairie Layout.

Well I had a thread started in the Layout Design section but figured since I am making the switch to N-Scale for sure I would start a new one here to document the entire process. First off, at this time I have very limited space to work with, which is why I have designed the layout to be built...

    N Scale specific magazines.

I am just getting started in N-scale after I realized I will never be able to accomplish what I want in HO. I am subscribed to Model Railroader but, have seen there are quite a few N-Scale specific magazines as well. They seem to all be bi-monthly and quite expensive though so I want to get...

    My Internettrain nightmare

I actually just received a Walthers Sawmill Outbuilding set from them 2 weeks ago, got it for $27!!! Took about 6 business days to receive. One thing that night make a difference is I only order stuff that is in stock, that goes for any company though.

    My Internettrain nightmare

Yeah, if its the Internet Trains in Brea, CA. I usually get the e-mail with invoice and tracking number within 1-2 days. Like I said, maybe my luck is about to run out though.

    My Internettrain nightmare

Well I for one have ordered 3 or 4 times from them, and always received the item within a week:confused: I have gotten some great deals too. Maybe I'll reconsider future orders as my time may be coming.

    Rolling stock kits.

I too really like the Proto 2k kits. I think they are the best out there for the price. You can buy lots all the time on eBay for $6-$7 a car. Here is a link to a build I did on a covered hopper so you can see exactly what goes into it. http://forum.zealot.com/t156651/ Search for lots or...

Do you model less in the summer?

I actually model more in the summer. Layout and train stuff is in the garage so it gets alittle cold here in the winter.

As far as I know the SD version's of the GP7-9 were made for lines that had bridges and track that need more weight distribution across the axles. There are actually some still in use on class 1 railroads in the yards. One here in Spokane yard last I knew.

Wow, HD video looks awesome. Wish all of them on YouTube looked like that.

    On Track, with Deano

I believe the GP9's were 1750hp and the GP7's were 1500hp. Only really noticeable difference is the location of the louvers. I wish I could find some inexpensive Proto 2k GP9's. All the UP one's I've been watching on Ebay are going for $70+
