Would 1:200 rails work for a 1:250 model?

Marcle Models in the UK (www.marcle.co.uk) list etched metal 1:250 Ships Railings (4 & 5 Bar) and also (2 & 3Bar). Each pacl is sufficient for scale length of 1,500 feet and their current price 19.95 GBP (say around 20 USD or 13.5 Euros) plus postage. Hope this helps. Mike

Cristoph, Pure excellence as usual. I am enjoying this build just as much as your previous ones. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your presentations. I find them extremely helpful, as I am sure do many others. Best regards, Mike

    GPM's 1/200 Graff Spee

There wont be anything further to add to this thread. Have taken a long hard look at my plating work on the hull had have decided it's not good enough. Therefore I am scrapping this attempt and as soon as I get around to purchasing another kit, will restart from scratch. That's all for this one.

Beginners build of Digital Navy's USS Arizona

Sorry it's been so long guys, but other things have been occupying my time. Haven't done that much but have completed the basic hull framework as the pics show. Further progress is liklely to be slow, especially since Santa was very kind - GPM's USS Missouri, GPM's Bismarck, GPM's HMS Prince of...

    GPM's 1/200 Graff Spee

Well, have finished the lower hull plating and started a light rub down in readiness for a paint job, as you can see from the photos. Not a brilliant job but I will live with it. Will fit the prop shafts, A frames and rudder next, then paint the whole lot an anti fouling colour. That's it...

    GPM's 1/200 Graff Spee

Rob - You need to visit the clinic! I would have to join you though. Lets see, currently have 4 radio controlled boats on the go - Thames barge, Empire Class Tug, Billings Colin Archer and a Footy yacht for the racing at the Weymouth Marine Modelling Festival in July. Oh and then there is the...

    GPM's 1/200 Graff Spee

Following the disaster with my build of USS Arizona and a pile of books, I found out that Digital Navy were issuing an updated and revised version so decided to wait until that become available before starting again. In the interim I couldn't resist starting GPM's Graf Spee that I have had sat...

Beginners build of Digital Navy's USS Arizona

Right, the waits over. CD for the USS Arizona 2004 arrived a couple of days ago, so we are off and running again. (trouble is I have also started GPM's Graf Spee in the interim, couldn't resist it!. Still, could be fun to have tow on the go at once). Have laminated the basic hull parts to...

Beginners build of Digital Navy's USS Arizona

Well, major disaster I'm afraid. Was sorting out the books on the bookcase next to my work table, and, yep, you've guessed it, dropped most of the stack I was lifting straight on top of the Arizona. :( :( I had completed the hull plating plus the prop shafts and rudder, ready for painting...

Beginners build of Digital Navy's USS Arizona

Attempt No. 2 has reached the hull plating stage. As you can see from the photos I have completed the middle section and lightly sanded the joins. Much happier with this plating ... still room for improvement though. That's it for now ... back sometime soon ... Mike

Beginners build of Digital Navy's USS Arizona

Have finished experimenting with a paint finish for the lower hull. As you can see from the first two photos I used a coloured polyurethane to cover the whole hull, using the paint in the third photo, then using enamels painted the anti-fouling red, the black waterline and the grey hull side as...
