    The Enterprise is Grounded

I drove by it a few times while I was on the road driving an 18 wheeler. By the time I got my camera out though, it would be long gone.

    Colonial Landram (A-TEAM) paint scheme

I might do one that's like the old quad .50 halftracks from WWII. 4 big lasers mounted on the back, and used to shoot down Cylon Raiders.

    Paper DC-3?

I think it's at the WASM (Worlds Smallest Air Museum) scale, which I believe is 1:60. Don't quote me on it though.

Ooh, they have a set of CISS for my printer. I'll have to look into getting one.

    Colonial Landram from Battlestar Galactica

I can't even remember where I found the 3-view's when I designed that Landram. I do remember watching and rewatching the episode it was in trying to catch every detail I could. Same for the Viper: Watching endless episodes and looking at pics of the 1:1 model trying to get every detail I...

Rhino 3D Tips, Questions and Answers

Regarding ^^ What I would do, which is probably less efficient, is to type "Loft", then select the top and bottom curves. Make sure the control points are lined up right, and set to around 50, then press OK. Then "Mirror" to match both sides. Regarding the tutorial... I was pasting...

Rhino 3D Tips, Questions and Answers

The problem is my home internet connection sucks those chinese century eggs, so posting a picture intensive tutorial thread is a major pain in the keister. I started a tutorial on the other site, and managed to get two parts up. I've been trying for the past 6 hours to upload just the first...

Rhino 3D Tips, Questions and Answers

Actually, if I remember correctly, there's already a thread on here explaining how to design in Rhino using a 3-view. I read it a long time ago, and follow it pretty much step by step every time. But I think I will do a thread on how I design. I've gotten a few questions on how to do it anyway.

Rhino 3D Tips, Questions and Answers

I'm not sure I have that many secrets to share. I tend to keep things simple. I am waiting for the part of the tutorial when we can add textures. So far all I can do is project panel lines and markings. Coloring and textures have to happen in Photoshop.

Give me a steel ruler, an exacto knife and a pair of scissors... I'll have that paper armor cut into little triangles in no time.

Model Of The Month: Colonial Viper (my techniques)

Nice to see one of the old classics again. Nobody knows, but this was my very first model I ever designed, way back in 2003. Oh and one thing I learned, and was pounded into my head...Do NOT use the Monogram model. It is not even close to being accurate to scale. I had to use screenshots...

    Boeing Model 307 Stratoliner

Just to let you know, Chip would be interested in the in the 307. We even discussed it when we hit the Smithsonian and saw their 307 during the cardmodel convention.

I've gotta get me one o' these...

That reminds me of a story I saw on the news about a guy who did his whole apartment over in a star trek theme. He had the LCARS displays on the kitchen cabinets and the hallways. If I remember correctly, he was in the news because he was trying to sell it and nobody was buying.

    what are you making

Chip's always open to someone redesigning it. He wants to redraw all of the older models to bring them up to the new FG standard. He needs a lot of help though.

I have officially gone crazy and it's YOUR FAULT, Gearz!

How long is you slightly enlarged version? I calculated about 48", give or take a power outlet. Unless you have nonstandard power outlets in your soon to be spacedock/home. BTW the lighting looks awesome. Once you get that baby lit up, any Cylons will be quaking in their boots.
