HMS "Prince of Wales"/GPM Nr 198

Wow, that's a brilliant idea! The stern looks really marvellous! Though, as for these great boats and their liferings and paddles (158, 159.jpg) - isn't there something wrong with their size? I think either the ring is too small, or the paddles are too big or too thick... The paddles can't...

    Need some technical advise

I use a chlorine-caoutchouc glue ("Butapren", but as a "local" glue it is probably being sold in Poland only). I don't know where you live, but I think UHU is quite an international brand... As far as I remember, they produce some butapren-like glue. UHU Universal or something like that? Well...

    Need some technical advise

Use non-water based glue. Unfortunately I can't advise you any specific brand since I'm not familiar to any non-Polish glue market. ;-)

    Spitfire kits

There was a discussion about this model here. There are some scans, too. No-one there has been building this model, but "in-box" opinions weren't very enthusiastic, for example: - there's no cockpit - the model is too simple as for 1:25 - the edges of the cut parts are ragged and not always...

    Spitfire kits

That's right, Mk II has just been released by Answer. It is an improved Tanie Hobby's Spit (released a few - or more than a few? ;-) years ago). This model is much less complex, much easier and much cheaper than the Haliński's one. Recently here in Poland the publishers tend to release the...

    JSC Lance& Cossack

If I were you, I'd scan part 12 and print it (or copy it by hand) in order to use it as part 10. Maybe it would need to be sanded slightly, then.

    JSC Lance& Cossack

Yeah, looks like the part 10 is too small in my Cossack, too. BTW, I had some problems with deciphering your post. :( Next time use some dots etc., please.

    Spitfire kits

There's no reason to be sorry, I think I would also have problems in distinguishing for example Swedish from Norwegian. ;-) By the way, on a site of "A Question of Honor" book (which, as I hope, will find its place on my bookshelf today :D ; ehem, the site is www.questionofhonor.com ) there's...

    Spitfire kits

Re: Spitfire colour schemes I think the last of the three Spitfires you've shown has a bad painting scheme - it is the same aircraft as the one on the colour photo you've attached earlier, and there we can see that the spinner, stripe and letters aren't white (compared with the definitely...

    Spitfire kits

OK, I've checked - not four, but three. ;-) Zumbach was one of the most successful Polish fighter pilots, and that's why he could have his personal aircrafts ("RF-D", D for Donald - he was called "Donald Duck"; later he had a Mustang "JZ" for Jan Zumbach). His Spitfires were: BM144 (the...

    Spitfire kits

Leif, the Spitfire on the photo is not the one in this kit. Zumbach had more than a one Spit (I think there were four of them), and it is easy to recognize them, because each of them had a different Donald Duck picture. On the Polish forum the colour of RF-D letters was being discussed - some...

    Any advoce on jsc assembly?

This is my old Bismarck. As you can see, the waterline fits to the surface and the deck is flat - there are no warps etc. The solution is easy - no water, no cry. ;-) Try non-water based glues, because the water based ones cause a lot of problems when applied on larger surfaces.

    P-51B Maly Modelarz

The first MM's issues were published in the beginning of the 50ties. The publisher (LOK) wasn't of course a private firm, but a national organisation, and THAT HASN'T CHANGED YET. This means that: - the publisher gets some subsidies from the government, and that's why MMs are cheaper than the...

    Newbie and Schleswig-Holstein pictures needed

Check if these models present the ship in the same version (I mean, at the same date). Schleswig had been rebuilt a few (?) times.

Maty Modelarz 1:150 scale Cutty Sark Issue 1-2/2004

I've purchased the last Maly Modelarz. It is probably a completely new design. The quality is (in general) the same as the other recent MM kits. That means that the paper is quite good, the design is computer-made, the colours are good and there are some print drawbacks. Well, in fact the Cutty...

    P-39N Airacobra in 1/33 by Halinski (2, 2003)

On the black phorum Losiu wrote: "The add-ons have been published in KF 1-2, I've got them and will use some day (though it will be necessary to paint them, because the colour doesn't match)". :) So it must be that. I mean 1-2/2004. And the red lettering on the cover's scan on Gryf Hobby looks...

    P-39N Airacobra in 1/33 by Halinski (2, 2003)

Great review. :) Check THIS out. The additional parts were to be printed in some special add-on to Kartonowy Fan (for subscribers only :/ ), but I don't know if it has been done. I've asked about it in that thread.

A comparison between Fly Models and Halinski P38-J models

I wouldn't say that Halinski's P-38 is computer-drawn. It looks as if it had been hand-drawn and then some computer-drawn details such as warnings and the Marge's photo have been added.

Fly Model Nr 130 , HMS. RODNEY

Scorpio, that's fabulous! Such a large and beautiful model built in such a short time! I just... I can't believe it! ;) Wooow!
