for my Fuso, in the funnel platforms my choice was:
to use the parts with canvas, and, with a reverse printing on paper, the same, laminated on the back, to make a thing without withe place.
(sorry for the language, i was a poor english...
if you have problems with hull building with card models, use mussel shell!!
look at that, it's an old summer building, a fisher ship from my coast,
all with wood, paper, and mussel shell, total length 15cm,, it's not a joke!!

philippe

Arizona DigitalNavy
hello,
I have to stop the construction of Arizona because of problems of printer, and also because I was not very satisfied with my work on the hull. I will go back to work, because this model is superb.
soon, i will send some pics.
i use for rigging "sprue", like plastic modelers, it's easy to make thread with the diameter that you want, but be carefull with the glue. using ca glue is " a prioiri" a good way but after some years i have some difficults ,
some shut down, with hard repairs..
i thing (despite my youth)...
it's your fingers? your eyes?,sorry but you are a ET , it's wonderfull, bravo!
i thing that you use superfine cutter like chirgurical material on a glasswood wordboard to have this hightprecision cut?
scorpio, i am drip with your work, (photo nbb12 et 13), i cant work after this view, c'est exceptionnel, i thing you have excepionnals fingers and excepionnal eyes, and exceptionnal artistic sense to maque both toghether!
bravo

hello,
here a small trick to contribute to the realization of the stems of ships: the part of stem often comprises curves in three dimensions, even a bulb.you built this part with a standard cardboard, use as much adhesive than you want, you can lightly sand after glue-stiff the card, use...
hello,
i use the same method to built my ships.
i use 1mm carton found in art-store.
the deck is printed on 80g/m2 paper, ideal is photopaper.
before cutting, this paper is glued with spray-photo glue 3m
on the carton on non shiny face.
afterwards i cut out the various holes, and next the...
ok, Barry for cigarettes
my great difficult in ship building is to make the hull,
i use uhu glue along formers and white wood carpenter glue( fast drying), along the deck. i thing it's the whole difficult thing in cardmodel ship building, have you tips for that?
i am easy( boastful) and happy...
bonjour,
i dont now what is a "cigarette card",
i have recently place an order for the DN Yamato,
to study the kit when building the Arizona
(my orders are faster than my building work!!!
it will be dangerous fo my banker!
