48 degrees with 92% humidity. Nice change in the weather. Not many trains going by this morning, I guess the rivers are receding. "The Missouri, she's a mighty river Away you rolling river The red man's camp lies on her borders Away, we're bound away across the wide Missouri A white man...

    My thought for today

I agree with you. I think it's just a human thing to look at the bad and complain and hope someone will come up with an answer. Sometimes it's better to let it out than hold it in. Those who complain all the time don't have many friends.

The train traffic through town has doubled since we now have west to east bound trains. The Missouri River is rising and is full of debris. They might close the bridge in Jefferson City due to a runaway barge. What a mess.

    Female Modelers?

Growing up as an army brat I had to travel and make new friends a lot. The boys up until teenage didn't care if you were a girl. If you could hit a baseball or had a sled you were okay. I just feed the guys at work some cookies if they act up. One even asked me to join the baseball fantasy team. :-D

    Female Modelers?

I always wanted to be an engineer on a train, you never see women in the cab. Why is that? I did notice on our last flight that we had an all male attendent crew and once we even had a female pilot.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Rained over night so we had to turn on the AC for a while this morning. Last night we saw a train with 145 empty coal cars go by and on the other track going the other way was a train with full coal cars and a helper in the middle. Cheap entertainment.

Back in Missouri and thought we missed the NASCAR race last night but it was postponed so we can watch today. A lot of grass grew while we were gone. It's too wet to mow, maybe we should rent a goat.
