I still can't decide what to buy.

Note: I feel a little uncomfortable commenting on NCE (although I used Power Cab for a brief period of time) so I hope that a more experience NCE user will comment on your questions and clear up anything that I may not be correct on. Jerry

I still can't decide what to buy.

When considering small starter sets it's good to consider upgrade possibilities as many people are eventually going to want to upgrade. It's almost always more economical to start with a more powerful, full-featured system if one's budget allows. Here is a look at costs for upgrading the...

I still can't decide what to buy.

I can never bring myself to recommend the Bachmann DCC system. It's so limited in what in can do and is not expandable. I think for your purpose, you would be far better off starting with something like the NCE Power Cab or Digitrax Zephyr. For a little more money than the Bachmann you would...

Lenz LS150 Turnout Decoder and Power Cab

I'm using the (5) of the Lenz LS150 with Atlas above the table twin-coil switch machines. They work very well with the Lenz DCC system and now are working well with MRC wireless. Don't know about Power Cab but would guess that they would work just fine with any system. Jerry

    New DCC????

I might add that I have a CVP T9000E radio throttle (same as used with EasyDCC but mine is compatible with my Lenz system). If you think that radio operation would be nice for your use on your layout then the CVP throttles are great, but a bit expensive. They have very long battery life...

    New DCC????

This can be a tough decision as both systems offer nice features. Hopefully you have access to hobby shops or local model railroad clubs where you can ask questions, see demos and get a feel for what they have. If you go Digitrax, I think you definitely want a DT400 throttle on which you can...

thoughts on easy dcc by cvp

I've done some studying of EasyDCC and it looks like an excellent system. Their latest upgrades now support functions F0 - F12 and other improvements. I do have their new wireless radio throttle T9000E for use with my Lenz system and it's very nice. After using radio I don't ever want to use a...

Atlas DCC Turnout Control (stationary Decoder)

I have the Lenz LS150s which is the same as the AtlasMaster unit. Two turnouts per connection means that these two turnouts will always be thrown at the same time, like a crossover where you always want both switches aligned the same. I use them that way for two of my crossovers. But...
