    Surprise, surprise

My son had a "bubble gun" for lack of a better explanation... one of those things that blows oodles of bubbles. It died after a trip to the beach, gee I wonder why. So, I opened it up to clean the sand out and see if I could fix it. What did I spot inside? The motor for the bubble machine...

    Few more questions...

Ok, I am starting to figure so much out. BUt still many silly little nit picky questions. First, when you start to laytrack on your layout, where is the best place to start? Obviously I should draw it out and lay the track out to make sure everything "fits" before laying it right?? OK, is...

    20" radius track?

DO they make this? I picked up a track plan someone else had made and it calls for 20" radius, I figure I might just have to use flextrack, but if they make 20" maybe I can use some of it instead and save the flex for the odd places.

I know someone posted a thread on this not too long ago but I cant find it and I need to know what it is called and where I could find one... Its a piece of track- 2 parallel pieces with an x of crossings between them- it looks like it would be made with 4 switch outs and a rossing in the...

    xuron rail cutter

Ok, so I have searched high and low... is xuron the only folks who make one of these? What sets this tool apart from other snips (like in my household tool box) ... I am going to have to cut rail when I do my layout, so I need to know my best options, but $10+sh for a tool is a lot for me...

    2 engines at once

How bad is it? My son likes to take his Thomas and put him on the tracks to help out other engines. We are obviously running DC and reight now its juat an oval loop. So they're both being powered by one power pack. What damage are we doing?

Don't leave me alone with a glue gun...

After posting the thread about essentials, I got started thinking more about and actually doing the organization of some trains... Here's what happens when I get left alone with a glue gun: It started out as an innocent picture box... Now, its a new home for Thomas and his friends.

    help with idea?

My son's favorite Thomas story is the one with the jet engine. He wants to reenact it when we build our island of sodor. Where do you suggest I get an item like a jet engine? SHould I rob a plastic model airplane of one? And what kind of car should I put it on? Just a flat bed? Any other...

    Essentials

What are a few of the items or tools you would be lost without when it comes to MRR? Think in terms of stuff you always have on hand, or if its tools people normally would have in their house, do you own extras that are specifcally for this? Please share! :) AND since I am fairly new to...

    The beginnings of a roundhouse

Well, I gave up waiting to find the perfect items and tried to use the instructions someone gave me... I jus grabbed everything I could find in the house that could be considered construction materials and off I went. Pretty much "freestyle" - I just measured the trains I needed in it and...

    Ok, here goes..........

For my grand plan of the Isle of Sodor, obviously an HO layout on a 4x8 will have to be limited. I decided to look for someone's pre-made track plan so I dont have to figure out how to make it all work. I love this layout: http://modelrailweb.com/images/site_support/design/crookedcreek.jpg I...
