    Computer control for layouts

    if you want to control things from your computer you might want to look into a PLC you can get a micro PLC for around 40 bucks the only drawback would be that they only have about 8 outputs so it depends how many signals you want to control but they are very easy to program

    the set i bought came with ez track most everyone here says use flex track and cork roadbed but i havent had any problems with it

    Herc I got a chance to check out your ballasted ez track. looks awesome and just as good as the other stuff. Now if only I can weather and ballast mine like yours, well once I build a permanent layout.

    Can you connect the two together? I like more for cheaper. But I already have 200 bucks spent on the ez track. Better late than never to make the switch I guess.

    i don't really know for sure what comes with the polar express set but i heard someone in the LHS today say... "we want some more track because we have the polar express set and it barely fits around the tree" now that doesn't sound like much fun

    i would imagine a clear piece of plexiglass sratched with an ordinary dish washing scrub pad would look like a rink. you could do a reverse painting on the underside of it to give it some depth
