Some people have mentioned that you can glue your road bed and track down using silicone caulk. Any one have any ideas on how you can do this without getting caulk all over the ties? It seems like it would make a big mess out of the tracks.

Has anyone ever cut their own roadbed from a sheet of cork bought at a hardware store? I'm considering trying this, and I'm wondering if anyone has experince doing this. Is it hard to do? Is it worth the effort, or should I just order the cork road bed that comes pre-cut. Thanks in advance...
