    Computer help

Consider the can of worms officially opened! J/K :D But buying a Mac wouldn't solve this problem at all. You can't maximize a window to full screen with Macs ;-)

    Computer help

What OS are you using? Windows XP? Generally, the windows will open in the same size that they were last open with. So if you had IE maximized the last time you closed it, it should be maximized the next time you open it. However, the OS can sometimes be a little glitchy (could be because of a...

    layout progress & engine pics

(See attachment) Wow... I LOVE that engine! I have a thing for old cars and the front grill on that thing is awesome! What engine is that? I doubt I'll find it in N-scale, but I still must know what that is! Oh yeah... and I agree... steam rules! My wallet doesn't agree though :-( My wallet...

    First models and loco

Wow, thanks for the compliments guys! Hopefully I get the same responses when I start scratch building :-P The house was a Branchline laser-cut wood kit that I painted and ever-so-slightly weathered. I got some paper shingles from Model's In Scale because the shingles that came with the kit...

Best W.S. ballast size for N scale ?

I used medium years ago and it didn't work at all. I have fine ballast now, and although I haven't used it, I can tell it will work out much better. It is still too large scale-wise, but it LOOKS right, which is what really matters.

Great job... That rust is amazing... I'm going to have to go rust free because I'd just cry when I compare whatever I can do to what you have done ;)

    First models and loco

Well, this isn't a big deal or anything, but the house and truck are my first models. The house is a laser-cut wood model and the truck is pewter. These are N scale, which I like due to the small size, but after doing these two, I will be moving to HO when I get older... I also finally got a...

Do you have any pictures of your modules?

    Modular track plan... planning...

Will do. I've ordered the in-depth Ntrak manual and plan to follow it as close as possible and only change the placement of track as you mentioned. I'm still trying to think of different ways to achieve the look I want and sticking to the full Ntrak standard but having to have two main lines and...

Hey Pitchwife. I actually found your website before and it came in very handy.

    Modular track plan... planning...

Andrew, that is almost exactly what I am now thinking. I can probably fit three to four modules in an L-shape. I can always have more modules and only take them out when I need to like I originally planned. I read about the Givens n' Druthers early on, but I was hoping I wouldn't have to...

    Modular track plan... planning...

I haven't been able to think of anything better yet and I've thought quite a bit. I might just make 2' x 4' modules one by one and make end modules that convert to the N-trak standard. I don't think I'm going to get everything I want into my room (continuous running, decent operations, hidden...

    Modular track plan... planning...

Ah, well I actually saw a cool plan for an engine depot that used a turn table that I really wanted to do, but it would take up too much space. As for reaching the back for a derailment, you're right. I am probably tall enough to reach it, but it wouldn't be good if I lose my balance and drop an...

    Modular track plan... planning...

The file cabinet is 2' 5", but I keep my printer on top of that. Of course, I could find somewhere else for that to go if needed. Also, the bottom of the windows is 3' 8" above the floor. I like your headboard idea Russ. Might be cool to have glass doors in a nice oak frame to show off my...
