    Tex'n Rails

I've had similar problem I've bought products from texnrails over the years. My major beef with them is they are very slow in shipping. The only way I would order from them again is if they had something I could not find anywhere else. Usually, when I order I want it to be shipped asap.

    speed limits in yards

ns speed On the NS in yard limits you can run restricted speed not to exceed 15mph. There may be some exceptions. However, with the possibilty of a banner being put up in a curve the train would be creeping. Restricted speed simply put requires that you be able to stop short of any obstruction.

    Up in Smoke

Tonight while running trains. I noticed that my GP38's lights began to flicker. Then I saw smoke coming out of my digitrax dcs50 command station. I unplugged the power supply as quickly as I could. The zephyr is under warranty. My question is what could cause this to happen? Could there be a...

I want to model a wood chip plant. It will consist of a tree crane, a wood chip loader, etc. I have found the products in HO scale, but not in n scale. If anyone has ideas on how this can be scratch built or knows of some products that will work. Please let me know.

    Electrofrog or Insulfrog

I am in the process of building a layout. I'm using insulfrog, I've tried both and for me the insulfrog was the way to go. I have the main track laid and it is working fine.

    grain elevator pic (test)

Very Nice I think you've done a very good job on this. I have this kit still in the box. I really like the grain bins you added. Can you tell me the brand on the grain bins or did you scratch build them?

    Computer Track Layout Programs

I use 3rd Planit. I am new to the hobby. This program is very good. I will admit though it has taken some effort for me to learn all of its features.

    Design help!!!

turnout cost The plan does have a lot of turnouts. However, I have tweaked it and I'm sure as I build the layout more changes will be made. I'm not planning on laying all the track at one time. It will be done in stages as my budget allows. The help with the plan did exactly what I had hoped...

    Design help!!!

What can I say? You have a talent. I could not have come up with a plan like this in months. I liked the first plan and have been playing with it trying to soften some of the tight turns. This new plan is really good. I like the storage on the 7" section this could be used as storage for...

    walthers kit

I've built lots of model airplanes in my life and I've always painted first. On the grain kit, I put it together first and have yet to paint it. I think this was a mistake. I wish I had painted first.

    how to lay flextrak

Ok, I was thinking that white glue would let go pretty easy if it is wet. I found a product called Glue Stic that works well for temp placement of track it will hold the track to foam but, real easy to change. When I get a firm design I'll go for the better glue. Thanks for the info.

    how to lay flextrak

I have two questions. I noticed the use of cork on top of foam. Does this reduce sound? I was thinking of putting my track straight onto the foam and then carving ditches. Second question, if you glue the track down and then want to add a turnout at some point in the future, how hard is it to...

    Design help!!!

Yet, another thing that I've not really considered and that is running tracks at different levels. I have just been thinking of all tracks at same grade. I was a little afraid of elevations. However, this does not look like it would be overly complicated to build. Thanks for the input.

    Design help!!!

Thanks, I like the way you placed the mainline at an angle through the yard, I've never thought of doing that. What is the radius of the curve going to the little 7" wide section? I'm just curious. I can use this, it has really helped me see some things I had not thought of. Thanks I also...
