    Extreme Trains On Right Now!

Yes, the host is too much; not to down the show but the MR video series is a lot better. Just my two cents

What type of road bed do you use?

I want my staging to be quiet and sneaky - very backstage. So it will be foam on foam for the staging and the cork on the visible track work - it also me to be finiky while laying track which to me is real important.

What type of road bed do you use?

Right now I am using 1/4 ply luan on clear ix framing, screwed and glued with 3 inches of foam. Most track is level, the scenery changes elevation. Back to the track and to Sattler's for my turbo train!

What type of road bed do you use?

I have some hidden staging yet to get started and am really thinking that WS foam is the way to go. I here it is very quiet. I use cork on top as it is so forgiving.

    May I Gripe???

I put my two cents in for the local shop: Sattlers has my number and he and Ed really know the business. I can and will pay a bit more to get great service. That served me well when I was working for the state and I don't see any reason to change. Online I have dealt with some good folks CMT...

    City Scene

I love it! Outstanding work! Very similar to Vancouver in Canada, North Philadelphia, PA and Easton, PA to name a few.

    City Scene

For what it is worth I am dropping most of my scenery by 2 - 2 1/2 " by layering up foam. That way the trains are at grade, water features are a snap and the major change in elevation is reserved for staging: below grade and below the main layout.

    What's Happened To The Gauge?

I was able to "find" the Guage by going to Zealot from Internet Explorer. I still can't get there from Flock but I am learning to be a devious and patient person

    News for mrc prodigy owners

Hey Daune, I was talking to my local shop owner: Bruce at Sattler's about the questions. Bruce said he had talked with Con Cor who said they were talking to MRC and so we come full circle. Thanks for the information on the MRC 1636, sounds like a trip to Sattler's is in order.

    News for mrc prodigy owners

I also hear that MRC is going to have decoders for Con Corr's Aero Train and Burlington Zephyr. Does anyone know about this or any other decoders for these two "trains" or for a doodle bug?

    E-3's and cabooses

I would say they are a number 6 but they appear to have a curve to them equal to about a 30-32 " radius which makes them ideal for passenger cars of standard length. Its funny but that's why I went with code 100 rail and PECO and DCC. I guess this old dog is learning some new tricks. As a kid...

    Wiring my New Layout

Understood, and I like to set my turnouts by hand as my pike is small enough. Of course once I get my kids to expand my operational horizons a la lap top any thing goes. One of the best explanations of dcc operation was told to me as an excercise in networking a computer sytem like we had at...

    E-3's and cabooses

Hey folks, I am looking for Baltimore and Ohio E-3's wioth DCC if possible, I think they were made at one time by Broadway Limited. Also early pre-1948 diesel switchers for the B and O and the New Haven are on my short list along with B and O and New Haven cabooses, again pre-1948. Does anyone...

    Wiring my New Layout

All of this is making me like DCC more and more. I do separate my yards: passenger, locomotive, and industries and mains and staging: yet to be build but in the plans.

Darkcurves, Do yourself a favor and get something running fast, even if itd just a couple of feet. You will feel more like a railroader and engineer, Hoo! Hoo! Chugga, chugga!
