Old Lima Headlight and LED, Help!!

I am trying to stuff a led into a Cal-Scale Headlight. I ordered some of the square 1.6mm lamps but I found that the "white" was more of a bluish tint. The 3mm LEDs are a little to tight. This is a HO scale Old Lima type Cal-scale#190-205. Any ideas Thanks Dave
