What have you achieved so far in 2004

Hi: Just obtained a piece of the 'Houston' model RR club though I don't know the full name of the club. A vendor at a show retrieved a reversible wye and two sections of hand laid code '70', "HO' & 'HO' narrow gauge, and a 'ton' of switches. The track requires repair as the club was...

Vanda32547 & Grumbeast: Sounds to me you guys are accomplishing alot more than I. Cool summer, a couple of grand kids, the Olympics, and a motorcycle have all interfered with me outragous ideas. I expected to have model logging, boxcars, and such done by now. Looks like I'm to have to...

What have you achieved so far in 2004

Shamus: Since attempting to design my own track plan I have been lucky enough to be given a module almost completed by a skilled modeler. With that example in front of my nose I should be able to improve my non-exsistent scenery skills. I have built and weathered two 'Keystone' Log Buggies...

Finally, Access Once Again to The Gauge

Sumpter250: After all the 'English Spelling Lessons' Marc will never be able to communicate w/ the 'Gauge' again. The above was worse then the crash. :D Maybe my weathering will improve after the 'Spelling' lessons. ;) Champ

Shamus: How about factory building furniture? If you happen to be in the Detriot area you could build a few things for (in the planing stage) my road?;) Such encouragement from this site. :) All of you are openning my mind about model rr. Thanks, Champ

Technical Q & A Tad: Building an engine sounds very formidable for me at this time. I'm sure glad you were able to accomplish part of your goal.:) The others should go faster. I'm now behind based on a number events created by others and it would not be fair for me not to participate...

What do you want to achieve in the New Year

Technical Q & A Shamus: Thanks.:) Should I lightly dip the white metal castings in diluted vinigar (5%) to clean the castings? My soldering skills need work. Yes, this is going to be 'HO'. I ordered 'Archbar' trucks for the 'Log Buggies'. Next month if the condo isn't close to ready...

What do you want to achieve in the New Year

Technical Q & A Shamus: I need a 'kit' to build a digital camera. There were two major 'HO' layouts, 'N' layout, and a major sized 'S' layout all clubs. One small 'leggo' block club layout. What adhesive would you recommend for the white metal casting? The other kits are wood and...

What do you want to achieve in the New Year

Jon: Have started some of that. Logging and mining in the late 1800's is where I think I want to be. Back before dirt was invented I had completed a few models and I have acquired 'Keystone' log buggies and a Barnhart Log loader. Should get the trucks and couplers in the next few weeks...

What do you want to achieve in the New Year

technical Q & A Shamus: That seems a reasonable idea; but there are two problems: 1- Not sure I would know how to do that. 2- the thoughts are not yet WELL formed;) Typical beginner, I attempt to do more than my abilities. I sent a scanned image to Marc Gast of an older 2 level 10...

What do you want to achieve in the New Year

Matthyro; Thanks for the welcome and WOW that's a lot of work I see. The pictures are very heplful. My library has a number of the old Armstrong Model Railroad Track plan books and they are very helpful. Marc Gast sent an old track planning guide he has used and between the two I should...

    Engine troubles

Static electricity can destroy a circuit board (decoder). It's a lot of voltage, concentrated in a small place, and in a very short time period. Sometimes the 'hit' looks like a small volcano if you have an Electron microscope. Rebellious child is electricity. Tom Champion
