    Atlas ERIE caboose coming soon

Yes, I realize that. I showed a picture of the new Atlas HO caboose that they will also do in N-SCALE. I am only interested in obtaining an N-SCALE ERIE Caboose.

    Atlas ERIE caboose coming soon

I see Atlas is coming out with an ERIE caboose in HO scale, in two numbers so I asked them if they plan to do one in N-scale. They said yes, it is in the works. I have quite a few N-Scale ERIE diesels but have been unable to find a suitable N-Scale ERIE caboose from any manufacturer so this...

    Favorite N Scale Manufacturer

I like Kato, Atlas, Lifelike and also my FT Erie Diesels from Inter Mountain.

Hello, now is the time to introduce myself.

Hi Paul, Welcome to the forum. My grandkids love to see the trains run. As a former resident of upstate NY, my interest over the years has gone from the colorful Santa Fe and Union Pacific diesels to the Erie and Erie/Lackawanna because that's what ran through my town of Monroe, NY...

    Life-Like: Good, Bad, or Ugly?

I noticed Walthers has taken over Lifelike and they offer an RS-2 in two different ERIE road numbers as well as many other roads. Does anyone have one of the LL RS-2's yet and how does it compare to the Kato or Atlas RS series locos? The pictures of the LL RS-2 look great.

    Intermmountain SD-45-2

Glad to hear they run decently. Perhaps a little weight could be shoe-horned into the shell. I have two sets of I/M FT A&B units in ERIE that run very smoothly so I have no problem with getting another I/M product. When it comes to EL power I think a SD-45-2 is about as big as it gets...

    Intermmountain SD-45-2

I like N-scale locos with ERIE or Erie-Lackawanna paint scheme. My Kato E/L SD-45's run flawlessly and I was wondering how the Intermountain SD-45-2 runs as it is available in EL livery. Anyone have any comments on the IM SD-45-2? Ather favorite E/L runners of mine are a pair of Atlas...

    N scale caboose

I have about 35 diesel locos in Erie but zero in Erie Cabooses. Please, somebody make a run of Erie cabooses.

    Another Steam Locomotive Hunt

Are you talking about the ERIE or Erie-Lackawanna railroad?. It was a big commuter line.

    Life-Like: Good, Bad, or Ugly?

I have quite a few Lifelike N-scale diesels and I like them. I also have many Atlas and Kato diesels and I think the Lifelikes deserve a place next them. Also have four of the Intermountain FT A-B units. They run nice too. Haven't tried any Bachmann lately but the older stuff were in...

MR cover that got me serious about N-scale

I started model railroading with an old HO Globe (Athearn) F7A in Union Pacific. It was a dummy. In 1955 there was a hardware store in town that sold model airplane engines and kits an their new salesman was into trains so he built a small HO layout for the front store window. It featured a...

MR cover that got me serious about N-scale

Although I actually started in N-scale with an Aurora Postage Scale set with a little 0-6-0 that was so light it could barely pull a few cars it was this Model Railroader cover that featured the then-new Atlas 4-6-2 Pacific that really made me want to build realistic layouts.

    Pre-Ordered a big boy

I'd love to have some of those larger steamers but they cost so much.......

Favorite locos not used by your railroad.

I'm serious about repainting two Kato SD-45's with the Erie black & yellow scheme. I used to let my grand daughter run N-scale locos around a test track and her thing was to see how slow they would go. She'd put her face down on the board and watch the locos roll past her eye. She was around...

Favorite locos not used by your railroad.

The BL-2 would probably been a good loco on the Erie for some of their commuter runs and short line operations in northern New Jersey. Wish I had a computer program so I could pull up a loco and just click a button to change the paint job. How about a black and yellow Erie loco with the...

    Standard gauge intechange

Sounds like a great idea for a diorama or to work into a layout. Bring in freight or passenger cars on the mainline, using standard trucks and then crane them over to the narrow gauge tracks to drop them on NG trucks. A simple platform could be placed between the two tracks to move freight...

Favorite locos not used by your railroad.

What locos do you wish your favorite railroad had? With the Erie being my favorite railroad they converted over to the Erie-Lackawanna so many of the newer locos were never available in Erie livery. I have a couple of EL kato SD-45's that would look great in the old Erie black and yellow...

    Pretty good deal.

    My delayed N-Layout

From what I know about it, the Erie had some unique cabooses and manufacturers don't want to tool up a caboose just for one railroad. Seems to me some maker could have the market cornered and I also belive having Erie cabooses might get guys who have been sitting on the fence into modelling...

    My delayed N-Layout

Lucky for me, ERIE is one of the railroads that had few models available so it really is possible to get almost every loco ever made in Erie in N-scale. I think there were some older Rapido locos but they were not up to todays' standards. One that eluded me was an N-Scale Erie switcher by...
