    LifeLike experiences

As others have mentioned, any N scale Lifelike with a split frame chassis will run decent. The C liners are better then anything else I own which includes Kato and Atlas. I have no doubt you will be happy with your GP-60. IMO the only valid complaint would be the lack of the frame being...

    Night time scene

The countertop is made from styrene. There is also a hood fan over the grill that you can't see. The stools are earing backs (also available at Micheals) The floor is made of evergreen styrene with a grid pattern. I just painted it balck and white checkerboard to represent a tile floor.

So, what does your wife think?

My wife thought it was a fad, and a nice diversion. She never expected it to last, and become such a passion for me. She makes the odd nice comment about my work, but would much sooner see me spend my time painting and renovating a house that doesn't need painting or renovating!!!!

    Night time scene

I use lights that I found at Michaels. They are in the flower section and are supposed to be used for lighting up flower arrangements. They come with a wiring harness and battery holder.

    October, we have a winner

As far as I am concerned anything I post on the web is public domain. The fact you are using a picture as wallpaper is very flattering. I am a long time N scaler. Anything that I post will always be an N scale model or scene. Thanks for the praise. Dan

    kato,atlas,life- like?

There is little to complain about with the new Lifelike. Kato. Atlas, LL they are all basically the same now. There is no way I would call the split frame LL junk. If LL make the style of locomotive you want, then buy it . The only caution I give you with LL is that they have made major...

Cornerstone Series(R) Walking Beam/"Horse Head" Oil Pump

Here is a pump jack being serviced. The service rig is getting ready to pull the rod string to recover the Downhole pump. This is taken in the Hinton area of my Yellowhead Railway Most pump jacks are painted black. Lufkin manufactures pump jacks and they come standard, painted black, with...

    Bachmann conversion to a 4-8-2 U1e

Thanks for the kind comments The Bachmann 4-8-2 is a decent locomotive. As I mentioned I wish it would pull more, but 15 cars up a grade works for me. I have compared this to my Key brass 4-8-2 and it is equal to it in all aspects. It even pulls better then the Brass. Now there is a...

    Bachmann conversion to a 4-8-2 U1e

I wish it would pull more. Mine pulled 15 cars up a 1.5% grade around an 18" radius. When I converted it to DCC I lost some of the weight in the boiler and some of the pulling power. I added wt to the cab and I also added lead to the front porch under the smoke box cover. It regained all...
